A family vision

Founded in 1976 by Nicola and Elda Fabrizio, Dedar is a family-owned Italian textile house creating furnishing fabrics, wallcoverings and trimmings for contemporary interiors.

Today, the company is led by the second generation, Caterina and Raffaele Fabrizio, who continue to shape its evolution while preserving the independence, curiosity and creative spirit that have defined Dedar since its inception.

Research as a creative method

Combining the tradition of Italian textile excellence with a distinctly contemporary sensibility, Dedar explores the universe of fibres, yarns, weaves, textile finishes and colour without preconceived stylistic codes. Creativity and experimentation are inseparable parts of the same process, driven by a constant search for new perspectives and an enduring commitment to innovation.

Drawing inspiration from art, architecture, fashion and design, the company transforms diverse references into collections that balance aesthetic research with technical performance. Rather than revisiting tradition, Dedar seeks to create textiles that become the classics of tomorrow.

A growing vision

Between 2011 and 2020, Dedar exclusively partnered with Hermès for the production and worldwide distribution of the French maison's furnishing fabric and wallpaper collections.

In 2024, Dedar further expanded its textile expertise through the acquisition of Mariaflora, the Biella-based brand founded in 2015 and recognised for its outdoor and high-performance textiles. Rooted in another historic centre of Italian textile manufacturing, Mariaflora enriches Dedar's dialogue between technical innovation, textile culture and design research, opening new possibilities for contemporary outdoor living.
